Navigate Your Transfer: A Step-by-Step Guide

Follow the clear, purple ‘Transfer’ signs immediately after you disembark your flight. Do not follow the signs for ‘Arrivals’ or ‘Baggage Claim’.

Follow Transfer Signs

Proceed directly from your arrival gate to the dedicated Transfer Screening area.

Complete Security Screening

All connecting passengers must pass through a quick and efficient security screening process. Prepare your boarding pass for your onward flight for inspection.

Confirm Your Gate

After security, check the nearest Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS) to confirm your connecting flight's gate number.

Proceed to Gate

Follow the clear signage to your departure gate. AUH’s design ensures easy navigation, with travelators and clear walkways assisting your journey.

Essential Information for Connecting Passengers

Minimum Connection Time (MCT):

Check with your airline for the specific MCT required for your journey. For example, Etihad to Etihad transfers can be as short as 45 minutes.

Baggage

If your airline has checked your baggage through to your final destination, you do not need to collect it in Abu Dhabi. Confirm your baggage status with your originating airline.

Boarding Pass

If you do not hold a boarding pass for your onward flight, visit the dedicated Transfer Desk located immediately after the security screening area.

Terminal

All flights operate from the main terminal, eliminating the need for inter-terminal transfers.

US Pre-Clearance

Passengers travelling to the United States must complete United States Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) Pre-Clearance at AUH before boarding. Follow the dedicated signs to this facility.
