Whether you are a first-time visitor or a frequent traveler, this guide will help you navigate easily within the airport and ensure a hassle-free arrival in Abu Dhabi.

Arriving in Abu Dhabi necessitates the acquisition of a visa or entry permit, which varies based on nationality, the purpose of your visit, and the duration of your stay. Below is the list of "Green list" countries from which people can travel when planning a trip to Abu Dhabi:

Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong (SAR), Hungary, Israel, Italy, Maldives, Mauritius, Moldova, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan (Province of China), Ukraine, United States of America.

 

 GCC Cooperation Countries

Citizens of GCC  countries do not require a visa, permit, or sponsorship by a national or resident in the UAE. They need to present their GCC country passport or national ID card at the UAE's point of entry.

 

Visa on Arrival

If you are a citizen of any of the following countries, you are eligible for a visa on arrival:

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hong Kong (SAR of China), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Nauru, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, People's Republic of China, Peru, Poland, Republic of Mauritius, Republic of El Salvador, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Vatican, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay.

Please note that the list is subject to change over time. It is advisable to check with the UAE embassy abroad or the airline company before traveling to Abu Dhabi. You can also visit the Etihad Airways website or the UAE Government Portal for updates.

 

UAE Visa/Entry Permits

Citizens of countries not included in the above lists must obtain an entry permit through Etihad Airways website or the UAE Government Portal or sponsorship visa to visit Abu Dhabi can be applied through: 

• UAE Embassy
• Tourism Establishments
• Hotels in UAE
• Airlines
• Accredited travel agencies in UAE
• A company based in Abu Dhabi
• An individual (UAE national, or an expatriate who is already residing in the country)
