  • If you have more than four hours, you may want to consider leaving the airport and exploring some of Abu Dhabi’s famous tourist attractions.
  • If you have less than four hours, there is still a lot you can do. Catch up on sleep, shop till you drop, indulge in a leisurely meal or unwind in one of our airport lounges.

 

Arriving in Abu Dhabi necessitates the acquisition of a visa or entry permit, which varies based on nationality, the purpose of your visit, and the duration of your stay. Below is the list of "Green list" countries from which people can travel when planning a trip to Abu Dhabi:

GCC Cooperation Countries


Citizens of GCC  countries do not require a visa, permit, or sponsorship by a national or resident in the UAE. They need to present their GCC country passport or national ID card at the UAE's point of entry.

Citizens of countries not included in the above lists must obtain an entry permit through Etihad Airways website or the UAE Government Portal or sponsorship visa to visit Abu Dhabi can be applied through: 
  • UAE Embassy
  • Tourism Establishments
  • Hotels in UAE
  • Airlines
  • Accredited travel agencies in UAE
  • A company based in Abu Dhabi
  • An individual (UAE national, or an expatriate who is already residing in the country)

Entry permits are issued based on the purpose of the visit.

 

Airport authorities issue transit permits to individuals stopping at Abu Dhabi Airport for a period ranging from 8 hours to 4 days. The permit is valid for 14 days from the issuance date and is non-renewable. For more information visit Etihad Airways website.
